On February 21, 2019, SAP CIS and INLINE GROUP held a seminar at the SAP CIS Digital Leadership Center for representatives of major Russian companies. The event focused on innovations and digital business transformation through SAP solutions and the IKSAR (XR) software platform for augmented reality devices and technologies, applied to smart glasses for warehouse employee workflows.
Attendees were introduced to real-world integration scenarios between SAP’s advanced warehouse logistics solutions and the XR platform, enabling warehouse tasks to be performed on smart devices.
INLINE GROUP experts presented a live scenario of material and technical resource (MTR) picking, performing operations in actual SAP and XR systems through the SAP PO corporate data bus. An INLINE GROUP staff member played the role of a warehouse worker, picking items from shelves, handling exceptions such as quantity mismatches or incorrect storage locations. Using RealWear HMT-1 smart glasses and a Honeywell wrist scanner, he demonstrated both the camera capabilities of the glasses and external peripheral device usage, while controlling all steps of the business process with Russian-language voice commands.
In addition to the live demo, representatives from SAP CIS, RealWear, and INLINE GROUP delivered presentations on real-world applications of such technologies and devices globally, discussed the latest company innovations in the field, and shared forecasts on the future of assisted and augmented reality technologies.
Andrey Petrov, representative of RealWear, highlighted success stories of leading global companies using the HMT-1 smart glasses, and emphasized that INLINE GROUP is a pioneer in the Russian enterprise market for assisted and augmented reality solutions. The event concluded with a roundtable discussion where participants explored questions and prospects for deploying such solutions across Russia’s largest enterprises, within the framework of national digitalization programs in key industries.
