AWE USA 2025 – the largest augmented reality event in the world – will take place in June in California

From June 10 to 12, 2025, the AWE USA 2025 conference will be held in Long Beach, perhaps the most significant event of the year dedicated to augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and spatial computing technologies. The conference will gather more than 5,000 experts, including developers, creators, investors, and business leaders, to explore the latest advancements and share real-world case studies.

The Augmented World Expo (AWE) has been held since 2010 and has a clear focus on augmented reality (AR) technology. There are no other similar specialized events on this scale in the world. Virtual reality (VR) technologies are also typically represented at AWE, but in a smaller volume. Recently, a new term, "Spatial Computing," has emerged. This attempts to combine the concepts of augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), extended reality (XR), and virtual reality (VR).

The IKSAR team has actively participated in the European AWE conference, traditionally held in Munich for many years, as well as the American part in California. Typically, the American segment is the most dynamic and representative, showcasing all the latest innovations.

This year, it is expected that more than 20 new models of smart glasses will be presented at the exhibition, including major manufacturers.

As always, the keynote presentations by figures such as Evan Spiegel (Co-Founder and CEO of Snap), Jason Rubin (Vice President, Metaverse Experiences), Ziad Asghar (Senior Vice President and General Manager of XR at Qualcomm Technologies), and Chi Xu (Founder and CEO of XREAL) are expected to be particularly exciting.

In particular, XREAL will reveal details about its new AURA project based on Android XR. In early announcements, the manufacturer mentioned that AURA would be produced as an affordable consumer device in a lightweight form factor with binocular transparent displays, several integrated cameras, and a wired connection to a PC, tablet, or smartphone. The project is being implemented in partnership with Google and promises extended support for Gemini AI.

More than 400 presentations are scheduled for the business program. In recent years, the organizers have made recordings of the main presentations publicly available – an invaluable resource for gaining new knowledge from practitioners (leading AR experts).

The exhibition area is usually a special attraction, where attendees can try on new AR glasses and test user experiences with new software products. This year, more than 250 exhibitors will showcase their developments across 15,000 square meters.
