On September 24, Voronezh became a focal point for discussions on breakthrough digital solutions, bringing together more than 4,000 participants, 8 thematic venues, and 120+ experts from federal and regional organizations. The main topic of discussion was the use of artificial intelligence in industry and agriculture.
IKSAR Technologies brought to the forum a solution that is already delivering practical results today: the Russian-made IKSAR augmented reality platform.
Contactless pig weighing — the star of the booth
Traditional animal weighing can be stressful for the animal, time-consuming, limited to selective measurements, and associated with a risk of injury to employees. It can also result in significant measurement errors. The IKSAR solution completely changes this approach:
- No physical contact. An operator wearing AR glasses equipped with a depth camera captures the animal from a distance of 2–4 meters.
- A 3D model instead of a flat image. The depth camera creates a volumetric model, allowing the system to calculate the animal’s weight based on its body geometry.
- Real-time results. The measurement is displayed directly on the device screen.
- Up to 97% accuracy — without unnecessary effort or stress.
AR glasses you can try for yourself
The booth featured industrial AR glasses across different categories — from binocular and monocular devices mounted on protective helmets to lightweight models designed in the form factor of conventional glasses. Visitors could try the devices themselves and complete a digital instruction:
- receive step-by-step guidance directly in their field of view;
- enter values using voice commands;
- take photographic evidence;
- register a defect.
The devices are controlled by voice commands in Russian, keeping the operator’s hands free. For many visitors, this was their first hands-on experience with AR in an industrial setting, making the practical demonstration one of the most popular elements of the booth.
How AI and augmented reality are transforming the way people work
In addition to the exhibition, IKSAR Technologies presented its vision for the future of industry as part of the forum’s business program. Andrey Khrabskov, Director of Customer Relations at IKSAR Technologies, delivered a presentation titled “Transforming the Nature of Industrial Work Through the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality Technologies.”
The presentation focused not simply on digital tools, but on a fundamental shift in the nature of industrial work. AR solutions combined with AI are changing processes ranging from routine inspections and quality control to remote supervision, installation, and commissioning.
Augmented reality technologies are no longer just an auxiliary tool. They are becoming an important factor in improving productivity: reducing operator errors, accelerating employee training, and enabling expertise to be transferred from a central office directly to a worksite in real time, while also creating a continuous digital record of operations.
The presentation generated strong interest among the audience, particularly representatives of industrial and agro-industrial companies looking for practical ways to digitalize their workflows today.
Attention at the ministerial level
The IKSAR booth was visited by:
- R.V. Nekrasov — Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation;
- M.I. Uvaydov — State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation;
- A.Yu. Verkhovtsev — Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Voronezh Region;
- M.F. Khisametdinova — Director of the Department for Digitalization and Technological Development of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The platform’s solutions and capabilities were presented by Igor Gulyansky, CEO of IKSAR Technologies LLC.
Import substitution
The booth’s primary audience consisted of companies from the Central Black Earth Region, including agro-industrial holdings, processing companies, and machinery manufacturers. Import substitution was a recurring topic throughout the discussions — and IKSAR has a solution to offer: its software is included in the Russian Unified Register of Software for Computers and Databases.
