The IKSAR Team and ITMO Will Integrate Augmented Reality into Education Together
INLINE GROUP and the Scientific and Educational Center of InfoChemistry at the National Research University ITMO have signed an agreement to implement joint innovative projects and promote the development and popularization of the Russian innovation industry in the field of auxiliary, augmented, and mixed reality technologies and devices.
During a visit from INLINE GROUP representatives to ITMO, a training seminar was held on the key capabilities of the IKSAR software platform, and the latest models of monocular and binocular AR glasses were demonstrated, which can be used in various scenarios for working with complex laboratory equipment.
Experts from the InfoChemistry Center identified a pilot area for testing the domestic IKSAR software platform in combination with AR glasses. Within the next three months, the first fragment of educational material created on the IKSAR platform and adapted for use with augmented reality glasses will be released.
The global market for industrial AR technologies was ~$ 42B in 2023 and is projected to reach ~$ 250B by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 37% from 2024 to 2030. The leaders in this field are currently the United States, China, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and India.
Augmented Reality (AR) is one of the key technologies of Industry 4.0/5.0 for human-involved processes and belongs to the new wave of technologies that will "survive" past 2030, creating conditions for global growth and competitiveness.
The collaboration between the IKSAR team and ITMO’s InfoChemistry Center creates favorable conditions for the effective integration of augmented reality technologies and devices into the educational process.
