INLINE GROUP becomes the first in Russia to deploy assisted reality technologies in oil and gas using the IKSAR platform and RealWear smart glasses

INLINE GROUP has successfully completed a pilot project at Slavneft-Megionneftegaz (OJSC “SN-MNG”) to implement an equipment condition monitoring information system. The system is based on the company's proprietary innovation — the IKSAR (XR) platform for augmented and assisted reality devices and technologies, used in conjunction with smart glasses and tablets.
The integration of AR technologies and devices into production processes enabled the complete digitization of procedures performed by the oil preparation and pumping shop (OPPS) during equipment inspection and maintenance. Tasks previously carried out on paper were transformed into a visual digital format. The solution also provided centralized management for task assignment, data collection on operations performed, time tracking, and monitoring compliance with industrial safety protocols.

Two major functional task blocks were fully digitized: equipment inspections by field personnel and monitoring of measurement and automation systems at the OPPS. During inspections and maintenance, workers followed step-by-step visual instructions displayed on smart glasses and tablets. Field staff could control processes via voice commands, scan equipment barcodes for identification, assess instrument status, and — when necessary — consult specialized departments through integrated video and audio communications to resolve technical issues in real time.

The trial-industrial deployment of the IKSAR platform and associated AR devices confirmed their operational effectiveness. The use of this digital system resulted in improved equipment servicing quality, reduced time expenditure, and enhanced occupational safety levels.

“Digitalization and automation of production are strategic pillars of our operations,”

said Danil Nikolaev, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development and Project Activities at Slavneft-Megionneftegaz.

“By piloting and implementing new IT systems, we aim to create a unified mobile platform capable of quickly determining optimal decisions in managing personnel safety and operational efficiency.”

“This project — focused on equipment condition monitoring and operational efficiency — is unique for the Russian market,”

stated Igor Gulyansky, Head of the Assisted and Augmented Reality Division at INLINE GROUP.

“At Slavneft-Megionneftegaz, field personnel became the first in Russia to use industrial-grade smart glasses for executing production tasks. The IKSAR platform, combined with mobile devices, has proven itself a valuable tool for improving production process efficiency.”

Note: IKSAR (XR) is the first Russian integrated software platform for assisted and augmented reality technologies, designed to improve business process efficiency. Combined with smart mobile devices — glasses, tablets, smartphones — it integrates seamlessly into existing IT infrastructures to support real-time operation design and visualization, simplifying human–machine interaction.
