HTC’s VIVE Eagle – artificial intelligence in a stylish design

These glasses are a true gem for travelers and those embarking on international business trips. Thanks to integrated artificial intelligence, VIVE Eagle can instantly translate any text from 13 languages—be it a business document or a store sign—and assist with messaging foreign friends and partners. Supported languages include Arabic, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Thai, and Turkish.

The gadget boasts a stylish design with a translucent frame available in four colors (berry, coffee, gray, and black) and two sizes (M and L). The company’s website offers a virtual try-on feature for the glasses. VIVE Eagle comes with Zeiss sun-protective lenses included.

Equipped with a 12MP camera and a wide-angle lens, these smart glasses can capture high-quality photos and videos in any conditions without the need for a screen or hands-free operation. The AI ensures perfect shots by leveling the horizon and removing blur when needed. VIVE Eagle features automatic recording pause when the glasses are removed or the LED is obstructed. Capturing the surroundings is as simple as saying, “Hey, VIVE, take a photo,” thanks to the integrated VIVE AI voice chat function, which supports Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT neural models (currently in beta testing).

In addition to voice control, the device is equipped with a touchpad and dedicated buttons for shooting and AI functions.

In terms of ergonomics, VIVE Eagle features a lightweight body weighing just 49 grams and adjustable nose pads, which, according to the manufacturer, ensures all-day comfort.

The device is positioned as a tool for playing music, making phone calls, and using a voice assistant. This is made possible by open-design earphones with a large monomer and virtual subwoofer, as well as ambient noise suppression to minimize sound leakage.

The 235 mAh battery supports over 3 hours of continuous calls, up to 4.5 hours of music playback, and more than 36 hours in standby mode. VIVE Eagle also features fast charging: up to 50% in 10 minutes and 80% in 23 minutes. A magnetic charging cable allows for quick recharging without removing the glasses.

These AI-powered glasses remember important places and events, prompting you about them at the right moment. Additionally, VIVE Eagle seamlessly integrates with your smartphone, capable of performing all its functions. HTC assures that all personal data is stored solely on the device—it is neither uploaded, tracked, nor used for training neural models.

Using VIVE Eagle requires a smartphone. To complete the setup, users must download the IVE Connect app (available on Google Play Store or App Store). Compatible smartphone operating systems include iOS (version 17.6 and above) and Android (version 10 and above).

Currently, the market for this model is limited to Taiwan, where it can be ordered for 15,600 Taiwanese dollars. The package includes the glasses, a magnetic charging cable, a case, a safety manual, and a warranty card.
