Beeline Business, in collaboration with the IKSAR team, has successfully tested industrial AR glasses with 5G for the first time in Russia

The domestic#nbsp;AR glasses with 5G demonstrated successful performance on#nbsp;Beeline’s 4G and 5G networks in#nbsp;Russia.

Beeline Business (a#nbsp;structural division of#nbsp;PJSC "VimpelCom") together with Inline Group LLC tested the IKSAR software on#nbsp;the first industrial#nbsp;AR glasses with 5G support in#nbsp;Russia.

The 5G testing took place at#nbsp;the Beeline 5G laboratory, focusing on#nbsp;data transmission speed during augmented reality video calls and the transfer of#nbsp;large data volumes between the#nbsp;AR glasses application and the server-side of#nbsp;the IKSAR software platform on#nbsp;Russian 4G and 5G networks. The testing and experiment also involved comparing the performance parameters of#nbsp;the#nbsp;AR glasses and 5G-enabled smartphones on#nbsp;4G and 5G networks.

The use of#nbsp;these glasses enables field employees to#nbsp;stay connected and receive digital instructions promptly. The "Remote Assistant" module of#nbsp;the software platform facilitates high-resolution video calls between mobile device users and remote experts in#nbsp;augmented reality conditions. As#nbsp;a#nbsp;result, employees can remotely receive new tasks without the need to#nbsp;visit the office, and they can share real-time and valuable information from the work site.

The new generation of#nbsp;communication, industrial#nbsp;AR glasses, and software collectively implement the concept of#nbsp;the "Connected Worker" ensuring the efficiency and safety of "field" employees.

The main advantage of#nbsp;AR glasses with a#nbsp;SIM card is#nbsp;that employees remain connected regardless of#nbsp;the quality and speed of#nbsp;Wi-Fi, external LTE modems, or#nbsp;other devices, with all transmitted data being securely protected.

As#nbsp;a#nbsp;result of#nbsp;the device testing, it#nbsp;demonstrated successful performance on#nbsp;Beeline’s 4G and 5G networks. The data download speed in#nbsp;the 5G network was nearly 20 times higher than in#nbsp;the 4G network, while data upload was comparable to#nbsp;uploading information from a#nbsp;5G-enabled smartphone.

Herman Borodov, Director of#nbsp;Key Account Management at#nbsp;PJSC "VimpelCom" stated, "Digitalisation is#nbsp;not only transforming specific types of#nbsp;businesses but entire industries. We#nbsp;are confident that#nbsp;AR glasses will soon become as#nbsp;familiar and convenient for "field" employees as#nbsp;tablets or#nbsp;mobile phones are today. Ignoring technology could not only cause a#nbsp;company to#nbsp;fall behind its competitors but also leave it#nbsp;out of#nbsp;the game altogether".

Igor Gulyansky, Director of#nbsp;Innovation at#nbsp;Inline Group LLC, commented, "We are pleased with the test results, and I#nbsp;am#nbsp;convinced that our solution will be#nbsp;suitable for many industries and businesses. With our solution, companies will become more efficient in#nbsp;all respects, and their employees will become more mobile and confident. Having all the necessary information in#nbsp;the right place and at#nbsp;the right time is#nbsp;the key to#nbsp;making the right decisions and successfully completing tasks".

(3) Due to#nbsp;the natural conditions of#nbsp;radio wave propagation, the signal level between the subscriber’s end equipment and the Beeline network may decrease due to#nbsp;interference near signal sources, specific building structures and terrain, weather conditions, and other factors.
